PUBLIC HEARING

CITY OF ASHLAND

NUISANCE ORDINANCE ORDER OF ABATEMENT

MARCH 6, 2006

     A Public Hearing was held on March 6, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. in the Ashland City Hall Auditorium.  The purpose of the public hearing was to receive comments on the Nuisance Ordinance Order of Abatement of property owned by Edward and Denise Meadows and described by the following tax map (11-04-19-1-000-037) and property owned by Roseanna Heard and described by the following tax maps (11-04-19-1-000-035) and (11-04-19-1-000-036) as on file with the Clay County Revenue Office.

     Mayor Terry Turner opened the hearing.  Council Members present were Zeola D. Echols and Rebecca G. Boddie.  Also, in attendance was Asst. City Clerk Donna J. Bennett and Edward Meadows.  (Sign in sheets attached)

      Mayor Turner called the hearing to order and opened the floor for comments.

      Edward Meadows, property owner of one of the above-mentioned properties, stated that he had spoken with Code Enforcement Officer Terry Raughton concerning the cleanup of his property.  Mr. Meadows asked that he be given ninety (90) days from this date to remove the house located on the property and cleanup all the debris on his property.  Mayor Turner and the Council Members in attendance were in agreement with this.  Mr. Meadows asked that a letter of this agreement be written for him to sign.  (Copy of agreement attached)  Mr. Meadows will also be responsible for all costs of the cleanup.

     No one from the Heard family attended the hearing.

     No business was conducted during this meeting.

     With no further discussion, hearing was adjourned.
