ASHLAND CITY COUNCIL

PLANNING MEETING

AUGUST 21, 2006 @ 4:00 P.M.

The Ashland City Council met for a regular Planning Meeting on August 7, 2006 at 4:00 P.M. with Mayor Terry Turner and Council Members Zeola D. Echols, Bobbie J. Steed, Gail E. Thompson and Rebecca G. Boddie present.  Attendance record attached.

General discussions were held on removal of Item No. 2 under New Business due to the fact that City Attorney John K. Johnson had previously reported that the Chief of Police was not eligible for payment of compensatory time under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Also discussed was the nuisance dog ordinance, the City Attorney’s contact with employees without prior notification from the Mayor and Council and the hiring of a full time maintenance employee.  It was asked that the dog ordinance be placed on the next regularly scheduled council meeting agenda and that it be placed in the local paper.

There were no actions taken at the meeting.  Meeting was adjourned until 5:00 P.M. when the Regular Council meeting would begin.
