ASHLAND CITY COUNCIL

PLANNING MEETING

JANUARY 7, 2008

      The Ashland City Council met for a regular Planning Meeting on January 7, 2008 at 4:00 P.M. with Mayor Terry Turner, Council Members Zeola D. Echols, Bobbie J. Steed, Gail E. Thompson, Rebecca G. Boddie and Mike Beale in attendance. Also present was City Clerk Charles E. Foster, Asst. City Clerk Donna J. Bennett, Maintenance Supervisor Randy Hanners,  Code Enforcement Officer Terry Raughton, Police Chief Benny Davis, Librarian Tina Nolen, Abby Pruet of the Clay Times-Journal, Lester Robinson and Leland Steed.

    Fire Chief Chad Toland was absent.

    Discussion was held on Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance for retirees with the Ashland Housing Authority, Lineville Housing Authority and East Central Gas, repairs that needed to be made on the roof at the Wynn Building, applicants for the open position of police dispatcher, deed for the old jail property and hiring a part-time Fire Chief.

    There was no business conducted at this meeting.

     Meeting was adjourned until 5:00 P.M. when the Regular Council meeting would begin.
