ASHLAND CITY COUNCIL

PLANNING MEETING

JANUARY 2, 2007

      The Ashland City Council met for a regular Planning Meeting on January 2, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. with Mayor Terry Turner and Council Members Zeola D. Echols, Bobbie J. Steed, Gail E. Thompson, Rebecca G. Boddie and Mike Beale present. Also present were City Clerk Charles E. Foster, Asst. City Clerk Donna Bennett, Code Enforcement Officer Terry Raughton,  Maintenance Supervisor Randy Hanners, Police Chief Benny Davis, Fire Chief Randy Mitchell, Leland Steed, Lester Robinson, Jim Anderson and Ray Stansell of the Clay Times Journal.  Attendance record attached.

     General discussions were held on the appraisal of the McKinney property, the Chief of Police position, the possibility of putting the police department under the county, grants with Louise Campbell and use of the Library by the Court Referral Program. 

     Mr. Jim Anderson addressed the Mayor and Council about the status of the purchasing of the McKinney property.

     There were no actions taken at the meeting.  Meeting was adjourned until 5:00 P.M. when the Regular Council meeting would begin.
