CITY OF ASHLAND, ALABAMA

 ORDINANCE NO.  2008-02-18-01

     BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND, ALABAMA AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1.  That the salary of the mayor of the City of Ashland, Alabama, shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of $700.00 per month.

Section 2.  That each council member shall be compensated at the sum of $250.00 per month.

Section 3.  That the mayor and each council member shall be eligible for insurance benefits not exceeding the amount established by the individual rate set by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama in February of each year.

Section 4.  This ordinance shall become effective on the first Monday in November 2008, and shall continue in force and effect until repealed by action of the council.

Section 5.  The provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared severable; if any portion of this ordinance shall be held unconstitutional or otherwise invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such ruling shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance.
